Will an asbestos survey mean we have to close parts of the school?

In most cases, no. Management surveys are designed to be carried out while the building is in normal use. We plan intrusive work, like sampling, around lesson times and sensitive areas. If we identify something that needs urgent action, we will explain your options clearly and help you plan any temporary restrictions safely.

How often do we need a fire risk assessment?

The responsible person must keep the fire risk assessment under regular review. For most schools and public buildings, we recommend a review at least every 12 months, and sooner if you have significant changes – such as building works, new uses, or changes in pupil numbers or mobility needs.

Can you just check our fire doors?

Yes. We offer standalone fire door inspection programmes, or we can combine them with your wider fire risk assessment. You will receive a door‑by‑door schedule with condition, compliance status and recommended remedial actions.
